The last eight teams in the competition will face off this weekend as they all vie for a spot in the semi-finals at Barclays Hampden.

The remaining teams are just one win away from a tie at Scotland’s National Stadium.

Holders Rangers will travel to Partick Thistle, whilst nine-time winners Glasgow City host Stenhousemuir, Celtic go to Hearts and Dundee United are away at Montrose.

Ties will be played on Sunday, 15 February.

A closer look…

Heart of Midlothian v Celtic

Celtic booked their place in the last eight after a nervy 3-2 win over Hibernian at Meadowbank. Joelle Murray’s side battled back to level the game after going 2-nil down in the first half. It didn’t take long for the visitors to regain the lead and hold on for victory, ensuring progress to the next round.

It was less of a close encounter for Hearts who demolished Stirling University 19-nil. Eva Olid’s side were out of sight at half-time with an eleven goal cushion and remained relentless in the second-half, adding a further eight goals without reply.

Partick Thistle v Rangers

Clinical Rangers progressed with a 6-nil win over Kilmarnock. Katie Wilkinson put the Women’s Scottish Cup holders 1-nil up inside 12 minutes. Not satisfied with the assist for the first goal, Mia McAulay unleased a shot from the edge of the box and doubled Rangers’ lead just before the half-hour mark. Quinty Sabajo made it 3-nil with a long-range effort just before the break. Eilidh Austin made it 4-nil on 67 minutes before Laura Berry and Kim Shin-Ji completed proceedings to round off an impressive victory.

Partick Thistle also opened their account early against Boroughmuir Thistle in the last round. Erin Rennie got the first goal for Gary Holt’s side before grabbing a second midway through the half. Rebecca McAllister got on the scoresheet on 58 minutes to take the game to 3-nil before Rennie struck again, securing her hattrick, a 4-nil win and a place in the last eight for the Firhill team.

Glasgow City v Stenhousemuir

Leanne Ross’ side were clinical at both ends of the pitch with a decisive 6-nil victory over Queen’s Park at Petershill in the last round. Three braces from Lisa Forrest, Emma Brownlie and Natalia Wróbel secured the win and progress to the quarter-finals for the SWPL 1 league leaders.

Stenhousemuir go into the match buoyed by a recent 3-1 win over Inverness in the SWF Championship. The Warriors beat Armadale Thistle 3-nil in the fourth round to set up a tie against the nine-time cup winners.

Montrose v Dundee United

Montrose went head-to head with Aberdeen in the last round, emerging 2-1 winners. The Dons took the lead midway through the first half before Kaela McDonald-Nguah levelled the score on 76 minutes and Demi Taylor grabbed the winner at the end of regulation time. Craig Feroz’s side are also eyeing history this season in the league by securing a top-six finish for the first time in Scotland’s top-flight.

SWPL 2 side Dundee United saw off Bonnyrigg Rose with a 5-1 win in the last round. It was the first ever meeting between the two sides and it took United until the half-hour mark to break the deadlock against the SWF Championship side. A goal from Katie Frew put the hosts ahead and this was quickly followed by a strike from Danni Findlay five minutes later to double their advantage. Rachel Todd added a third whilst Kazya Stevens grabbed an impressive consolation for Bonnyrigg. United went on to make it 5-1 inside the last ten minutes with goals from Rachel Todd and Robyn Smith.
