Scottish Gas Women's Scottish Cup Fourth Round: Preview

The Scottish Gas Women's Scottish Cup returns on Sunday, with eight Fourth Round ties taking place across the country.

The action gets underway at Petershill Park as Glasgow City - nine times winners of the competition - take on eight-time winners Hibernian. Just six points separate 3rd-placed City and 4th-placed Hibs in the current SWPL1 table.

Another all-SWPL1 clash sees 7th-placed Aberdeen away to 11th-placed Spartans.

Hibs' Edinburgh rivals Hearts are also in action on Sunday lunchtime as they travel to Bayview to take on East Fife. East Fife, who sit fourth in the the Championship, defeated Renfrew 5-0 in the previous round.

The other early kick offs see Livingston play Gartcairn at the Tony Macaroni Arena, while Montrose host Stirling University at Links Park.

Scottish Cup holders Celtic continue their bid to retain the trophy at 4pm on Sunday as they make the short trip to New Douglas Park to face Hamilton Academical. Currently sitting second in SPWL1, Celtic appointed Elena Sadiku as their new head coach last month. They face an Accies side who currently sit bottom of the top flight table although they did enjoy a 3-2 win over Kilmarnock last month to progress in the cup.

Also in action at the same time are last year's beaten finalists, Rangers who host Dundee United at Broadwood Stadium. Rangers currently top the SWPL1 table while the Tangerines are 9th.

The action is rounded off at Petershill Park as Queen's Park play Partick Thistle in an intriguing match-up. The Spiders are ten points clear at the top of SPWL2, having only lost twice all season. Brian Graham's Thistle side are also enjoying another strong campaign, sitting 6th in SPWL1 and preparing for a League Cup Final against Rangers.

Quarter-Final Draw

The draw for the Quarter-Final of the Scottish Gas Women's Scottish Cup will take place on Monday, 5 February at 6pm, live on Scottish Cup social channels.

Scotland's record-goalscorer Julie Fleeting will join host Eilidh Barbour to conduct the draw.
