Former Falkirk and Inverness Caledonian Thistle star Owain Tudur Jones today lent his support to the Tesco Bank Family Festival which takes place before this year’s William Hill Scottish Cup Final on Saturday at Hampden Park.

The ex-midfielder, who played for both teams is excited about returning to Scotland to see two of his former clubs in the Final. Owain played for Inverness CT for two seasons, before making the move to Falkirk in 2014 where he finished his professional career.

This is the Scottish FA and Tesco Bank’s third pre-match family celebration. Last year’s successful Tesco Bank Family Festival before the final between Dundee United and St Johnstone, was attended by over 3,000 supporters. There will be free football fun for all, inflatables, former players from both teams and much more planned in the specially created fan zone at Lesser Hampden.

The Tesco Bank Football Challenge is a long-term community programme run in partnership with the Scottish FA. The initiative introduces football to Primary Two and Primary Three children (six to eight years old) across Scotland to help get them engage in a healthy and active lifestyle.

The first four years of the programme have been an overwhelming success, with over 82,000 children across more than 2,000 primary schools in Scotland taking part.?Teachers and volunteers also continue to enjoy the Scottish FA’s in-service programme with over 5,000 now trained to support the growth of football in schools..

Former Falkirk and Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Owain Tudur Jones said: “This is going to be a fantastic event for all the family and is another great example of a really positive approach to the final.

"The Tesco Bank Family Festival will be a brilliant way to kick off the day with loads supporters of both teams to enjoy.”
