Fans of Scottish football will have the chance to play out their own unrivalled Scottish Cup experience this year at the inaugural William Hill Scottish Cup Fives.
In the last few years fans of Dundee United, Celtic, Hearts, St Johnstone, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and, of course, Hibs have all experienced Scottish Cup Final memories that will last a lifetime.
The William Hill Scottish Cup Fives now offers avid five-a-side players the opportunity to forge treasured memories on the field for themselves, as they put their footballing skills to the test against like-minded fans across Scotland.
The tournament will culminate in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans to create their own day in May – playing at Hampden on Scottish Cup Final day and then enjoying tickets to the big match.
Entry to the William Hill Scottish Cup Fives is free. Interested players can now enter a squad of seven (five players and two substitutes) for one of the three regional events to be held over the coming weeks:
• Saturday, 11 February – Glasgow Powerleague 1-7pm
• Saturday, 4 March – Sighthill Powerleague (Edinburgh) 1-7pm
• Sunday, 23 April – GOALS Aberdeen 1-7pm
The top two teams from each event will progress to the final, to be played at 11.30am on Saturday, 27 May at Lesser Hampden.
The six finalists will be split into two groups of three, with the top two from each group progressing to the knockout stages, while the bottom teams play off in a wooden spoon tie.
When the dust settles and the silverware has been handed out, participants will make their way over to Hampden to watch the Scottish Cup final in the afternoon.
Registration for the William Hill Scottish Cup Fives is now open. To register, visit https://scottishcupfives.eventbrite.co.uk
