The first game of the weekend saw Greenock Morton travel to Glasgow to take on Celtic. Aaron Mooy opened the scoring for the Hoops from the penalty spot, before Kyogo doubled their lead. David Turnbull added a fourth for Celtic with a fine finish, with Kyogo grabbing his second in added time before the break. Mooy grabbed his second and Celtic’s fifth late on, sealing his side’s progress to the Fifth Round.

Falkirk came back from a goal down to book their place in the Fifth Round. Luke Donnelly got the opener for Alloa Athletic, before Brad McKay equalised shortly before the break. Ruman Burrell scored what proved to be the winner with 15 minutes left, nodding home a Callumn Morrison cross.

It was an exciting encounter between Arbroath and Motherwell, with many of the early chances going the way of the Lichties. It was a dream debut for Mikael Mandron, as he grabbed the opener for the Steelmen with 27 minutes on the clock. He grabbed his second of the match, securing the result for Motherwell with 90 minutes on the clock.

In one of the most intriguing match-ups of the weekend, Dundee United hosted the University of Stirling. Despite a spirited showing, it wasn't to be for the Lowland League side as goals from Aziz Behich, Jamie McGrath and Glenn Middleton sealed progress for the Tangerines.

It was late drama at Rugby Park between Kilmarnock and Dumbarton. With the scores locked at 0-0 and with extra time beckoning, Jordan Jones volleyed home the winner in the first minute of added time.

Livingston put in a battling performance to fight back from a goal down to win 3-1 away to Stenhousemuir. Nicky Jamieson nodded home the opener for Stenny after 25 minutes, and at half-time there was an upset on the cards. Livi turned it round in the second half thanks to a Scott Pittman strike and a double from Steven Bradley.

It was a tight match at Firhill, as Partick Thistle and Dunfermline went head-to-head. Kyle Benedictus opened the scoring for the visitors from the penalty spot, before Aidan Fitzpatrick levelled for the hosts. Nothing could separate the sides after extra time, and it was Partick who emerged victorious on penalties – Jamie Sneddon making a superb save to deny Matthew Todd.

Ross County made the trip south to face Hamilton Academical; with nothing between the sides after 120 minutes, it was a penalty shootout that was to decide the victors. Ryan Fulton was the hero for Accies, as he denied Jordan White from the spot. Hamilton scored five from five as they progressed to the Fifth Round.

In Paisley, St Mirren hosted Dundee, as both sides aimed for a place in the next round. A goalless 120 minutes followed, with this the third match of the weekend to be decided via penalties. It was not a shootout to remember for the Dee, with St Mirren winning 3-0, securing their place in Sunday's draw.

In the final match of the day, Borna Barišić scored with a spectacular strike to seal a 1-0 victory for Rangers away to St Johnstone. The Perth Saints caused the holders problems on the day, with James Tavernier clearing a goal-bound shot off the line from Theo Blair. However, the Rangers defence stood strong, as they progressed into the Fifth Round.

Scottish Cup Fifth Round Draw

The draw for the Scottish Cup Fifth Round will take place on Sunday, 22 January at 6pm, live from Hampden Park.

Former Scotland midfielder Shaun Maloney will conduct the draw, which will be broadcast live across the Scottish Cup social channels.
