Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale’s Samuel Nhamburo has been awarded Goal of the Cup for the 2017-18 William Hill Scottish Cup for his sensational 89th minute winner in the first round against Inverurie Loco Works.

Beating competition from SPFL Premiership stars Callum McGregor, Carl McHugh, Gary Mackay-Steven and Jason Cummings, Nhamburo secured Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale’s passage to the second round with his sensational strike. The Cup run didn’t end at the first round for the Edinburgh side, as they went on to record one of the upsets of the tournament with a 5-3 win over Stirling Albion.

Each goal voted as Goal of the Round for their respective rounds was eligible for Goal of the Cup, with the decision being made by a panel of experts. The panel voted for their top three goals with their first choice receiving three points, second two points and third one point.
