William Hill Scottish Cup holders St Johnstone progressed into the fifth round with a 2-1 victory over Ross County at McDiarmid Park.
The Staggies were one of five SPFL Scottish Premiership sides to exit the tournament at the first attempt as Aberdeen, Motherwell Hamilton Academicals and Kilmarnock lost to Dundee, Dundee United Partick Thistle and Rangers respectively.
The biggest upset of the day belongs to Lowland League side Spartans, who came from behind to knock-out Greenock Morton at Ainslie Park.
Fellow underdogs Bo'ness United and Brora Rangers were not so succesful, both losing out to Arbroath and Queen of the South.
